A supported residential retreat in The Yorkshire Dales

Join a supportive group for a 3 day silent, reflective retreat at Broadrake Bunkbarn near Ingleton from the evening of 26th to the morning of 29th June 2024.

Our theme (though of course you can work on whatever you want!) will be:

You will be supported to explore any issues that are troubling you so you can leave on Sunday ligher, freer and feeling greater compassion towards yourself and others.

“Discovering TWM has been the most profound experience of my life – I now have the tools to come back to a place of peace when the emotions and triggers are taking over. I can be kind to me, be me, be love.’
‘Clare provided a peaceful space to be truly open to what comes. It felt safe and relaxed, set in a wonderful landscape with time for exploring inside and out. Highly recommended.’
‘If you need to explore your ‘inner self’ and find some peace within this is definitely the weekend for you.’

The Walters Method (TWM)

TWM is an innovative way to free the mind and see with increasing clarity how to be, how to deal with difficult emotions, how to find purpose and feel fulfilled. It offers tools that can be used at times of challenge and uncertainty or as a daily practice.

It is a body-based psychotherapy focusing on felt sensations that does not require you to talk about your issues. And is unique in giving you the ‘how’ to let go of old patterns. It can be used to help with many issues, freeing the mind from trauma, unconscious patterns and ego drivers and bringing increasing clarity and personal integrity.

Used as a regular practice, it supports spiritual growth and increasing insight into who you are, what you are here for, and how to live your purpose.

Format of the retreat

We will be coming together between 4 and 6 on Thursday evening and will have a brief meeting where we can all introduce ourselves.

We will then eat together and afterwards meditate before discussing the theme for the retreat and an invitation to share our personal challenges and questions.

The support team will introduce themselves and let everyone know how to find them at all times throughout the retreat. We will then go into silence.

You will be encouraged to switch off phones and not engage in your usual distractions. An emergency number will be provided.

At 8 am on Friday morning there will be a movement session followed by breakfast.

At 9.30 we will come together for meditation and ‘satsang’ with Clare Walters, the founder of TWM. This is a time where you can share your insights and challenges and perhaps be taken through a TWM process to help you gain clarity and freedom.

You then may wish to go walking, read, reflect, meditate or have a 121 session with a TWM practitioner (fee by arrangement with your practitioner).

You can help yourself to refreshments and lunch whenever you want them.

Dinner will be at 7 and afterwards there will be optional shared time, including meditations, audio teachings and a singing/chanting session.

The format on Saturday will be the same until 5pm when we will come together for satsang and then break the silence.

After dinner we will come together to share our experience and set our intentions for supporting our spiritual practice after we leave.

After breakfast on Sunday we will vacate our rooms.

Those that wish to can stay on for a walk followed by a pub lunch (not included in the price).
